President Javier Tebas discussed the possibility of watching 'La Pulga' leaving La Liga in the next transfer window.

Cristiano Ronaldo left La Liga, and the league somehow did not suffer from his absence. Now, with Inter Milan's reported interest in signing Lionel Messi, La Liga president Javier Tebas discussed the possibility of watching the Argentine ace leave Spain, and the effect it could have in the league's financial situation.

Speaking in an interview, Tebas assured that Messi's absence would not mean the end of the world for La Liga, especially after what happened with Cristiano Ronaldo's departure two years ago.

"I'd love for Messi to continue playing here, but there would be no drama if he chose to leave Barcelona," Tebas stated.

Tebas went on to share how La Liga was on the winning side of the story when Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave Real Madrid, even if some experts believed that the financial blow to the Spanish top-flight would be hard to deal with.

"There was talk about how much we would suffer without Cristiano, but in the end, our revenue was higher when he left," Tebas added.

Then, the league's main man aimed a dig at the Italian top-flight by naming how their financial problems will not be solved if Messi ends up playing for Inter.

"I don't think that Messi's signing will solve Serie A's problems, mainly because they have been linked to high debts, massive and insufficient payments. Serie A's numbers are not healthy, and those economical problems will not be solved by hiring Lionel Messi," Tebas concluded.

Inter Milan's interest in Messi comes after a new problem between the Argentine ace and the Blaugrana hierarchy made headlines. While the possibility of watching Messi leaving the Camp Nou seems far-fetched, the existance of a release clause in his current deal leaves that window of opportunity open.
