The player born in Mali shared his feelings after walking off the pitch in the game against Vitoria Guimaraes.

Moussa Marega's rant after being racially abused by Vitoria Guimaraes' fans keeps making headlines. This time, the Mali international shared his views about the incident, even hinting that he did not react immediately to the insults hurled at him by those in attendance.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Montecarlo, Marega detailed how he endured quite a bit before finally leaving the pitch after 71 minutes.

"It all began during the warmup. It was two or three people, and I tried to convince myself that it happened to everyone, that I could carry on with the game," Marega stated.

The footballer finally came to terms on what he needed to do if he wanted his stance to be heard.

"It's impossible to keep on playing when the entire stadium is calling you names, when people are making fun of you because of the color of your skin. It's sad to see that happening in 2020," the player added.

Before the interview concluded, Marega thanked everyone who had kind words for him during his time of need while also mentioning a special member of his family that helped him during this tough moment.

"I reall felt like sh*t, it was a massive humiliation. After the game, I went home and the only one that could get a smile out of me was my kid. Reading all the support messages also brought me back," Marega concluded.
