Klopp reveals extent of Sadio Mane’s injury ahead of West Ham vs Liverpool

Despite beating Wolves 2-1 and maintaining their amazing unbeaten run, Liverpool’s Premier League win on Thursday handed fans a huge concern. This was due to the injury Sadio Mane picked up in that match.

The Senegalese ace, who is the Reds joint-top scorer this season in all competitions, was forced off the pitch with an injury after only half-an-hour of play. After the game, Klopp confirmed that it was a hamstring issue but could not reveal the extent of his knock.

The German boss has now offered an update on their superstar attacker to the fans, and much to their delight, Mane’s injury is nothing serious. Jurgen spoke to the press ahead of tomorrow’s clash with West Ham and revealed that Sadio will miss Wednesday’s trip and Saturday’s clash with Southampton, but the attacker should be back after that.

“He will not be involved at West Ham and probably not for Southampton, but after that, he should be fine,” the German boss said, as per This Is Anfield.

“The week after that is perfect for him to get back on track. He has a small muscle tear which is serious enough to keep him out but we were lucky with the injury that it was not that serious.

“But of course when you have three games in a week then it means he is out for these.”

This is a huge boost for the Premier League leaders. The Merseyside giants are not only well on their way to winning the title, but could also become the next Invincibles due to their impressive unbeaten record.

Mane, who has netted 15 times this season for the Reds in all competitions, has featured in 31 out of a total 37 games his club has played in 2019/20 so far. Liverpool will have to make do without their superstar for only a little while longer.
