Rashford, the Red Devils' top scorer this season, is set for a length spell on the sidelines, forcing Man United to search for a striker.

Man United are reportedly keen on bolstering their attack amid the recent injury to Marcus Rashford and have already identified a target. According to David Ornstein of the Athletic, that man is none other than Krzysztof Piatek.

Ornstein, speaking on the Chapman Podcast, claims that the Red Devils have made contact with the attacker’s current employers, AC Milan. Solskjaer is in dire need of a number nine and after missing out on Erlin Braut Haaland to Dortmund, the English giants have inquired about the Pole’s availability.

Man United were already short on attackers before Rashford’s unfortunate injury. The departure of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku last summer, accompanied by Anthony Martial’s injuries, meant Marcus has been their main source of goals.

The Englishman will now be out for several months after suffering a double stress fracture, hence the need for a new striker. AC Milan are said to be open to selling Piatek but the Red Devils aren’t the only English club after the 24-year-old.

Tottenham are another Premier League side interested in his services, with Harry Kane similarly set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The north London giants are said to be leading the race for the Serie A forward, who has scored only five goals in 19 apps this season, but they are no willing to meet the Rossoneri’s $39M asking price.
