The early minutes of Jose Mourinho's return to Old Trafford might not have turned out like how he envisaged it despite the warm reception he was treated to by the home fans. The Portuguese manager picked up an 'early injury' after being clattered into by the Red Devils' Daniel James on the touchline, sparking a frenzy among fans on social media.

It was quite a physical start inside Old Trafford and the former Manchester United head coach was made to have a feel of the game's intensity while looking on. His Spurs side headed into the game on the back of three wins in three and were eager to keep up the run while inflicting more misery on the host.

Inside the 13th minute, Daniel James was sent flying off the field following a tackle by Harry Winks. The Welshman ended up colliding head-first with the knee of Jose Mourinho who was immediately seen clutching his knee in agony. Winks was subsequently booked for the foul. Watch:
