The Blues are gearing up for their crucial clash with the Reds but could see key players back.

Chelsea and Liverpool are gearing up for a highly-anticipated showdown on Sunday. After their thrilling UEFA Super Cup encounter which ended in a penalty shoot-out defeat for the Blues, Lampard’s men will get a chance at revenge against the league leaders.

After a rough start to the campaign for the London giants, they have now found their grove and look exciting with Tammy Abraham in attack. Defensive frailties continue to plague Chelsea, though, but one man is back to help solve this issue.

That man is none other than N’Golo Kante, the Chelsea superstar who has missed the last four games for his club due to an ankle injury. His last appearance for the Blues was the 1-1 draw with Leicester at home but could be back for the Liverpool game after returning to training.

The Frenchman was the only player to return, with Emerson also training ahead of Sunday’s Stamford Bridge showdown. Elsewhere, Callum Hudson-Odoi revealed that he is fit after recovering from an Achilles problem and could thus be available for the Liverpool game.

Chelsea aren’t the only ones with an injury boost. The Reds could welcome back Naby Keita to their squad after the midfielder returned to training and could be involved in the trip to London.

This game comes too soon for Alisson, however, while Lampard might have to make do without Mount and Rudiger who are both doubts.
