Here's a look at the Reds' two African superstars are their numbers so far this season.

Napoli and Liverpool are gearing up for a highly-anticipated Champions League showdown, with the English and Italian giants set to lock horns once again following their thrilling encounter in the group stage last season.

The Reds are the reigning champions of Europe and given their form in the Premier League, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will face an uphill battle to beat them. And among their squad is two in-form attackers: Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. However, this begs the question: which winger should the Italians fear?

This is a tricky one for the Serie A heavyweights as both men pose a threat to their goal. Whenever a team crosses paths with Barcelona, the biggest issue is stopping Messi. With Juventus, it’s Cristiano. However, with the Merseyside giants, it’s not as straight forward.

Salah was Klopp’s go-to guy for goals in his debut season in England, winning the Premier League Golden Boot after netting 32 times. The following year, the Egyptian ace shared this accolade with none other than his Senegalese team-mate, proving that Mane has stepped up his game as of late.

Their numbers this season are almost identical. Both men have made five appearances this term in the English top-flight and they both have four goals each under their belt. Salah has one more assist that his fellow African but the former Roma man has taken five extra shots that Mane.

Sadio is the man in form, scoring three in his last two games. Salah, on the other hand, has managed that same amount of goals but only from his last three games, which still puts him at a goal-per-game ratio for those aforementioned matches.

This should cause tons of problems for Napoli. Partenopei’s defense hasn’t been great so far, conceding seven goals in their first two league games against Fiorentina and Juventus. Liverpool should be just as hard as the Old Lady, or even more, but they must be wary of two men attacking down the wings.
