The Brazilian talisman stole the show in his league debut this season but felt unwelcomed at Parc des Prince on Saturday evening.

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr has finally spoken up on his unsuccessful attempt to depart from the French club this summer. The 27-year-old Brazilian winger was subjected to resounding boos and jeers in his season debut for Les Parisians before scoring a spectacular winner to silence the Parc des Princes faithful.

Neymar, whose purported move to Barcelona failed to materialise was made to face the hostilities of the Paris Saint-Germain fans in his first league appearance after his transfer saga. Throughout the clash with Strasbourg, the former Santos prodigy showed glimpses of his form at the beginning of last season but almost failed to impress the fans inside his side's home ground.

However, with deadlock yet to be broken in additional time after the 90 minutes were exhausted, Neymar got on the end of a cross by Abdou Diallo and snatched the win for Tuchel's side with a glorious bicycle kick. The goal subsequently attracted an ovation of approval by the spectators.

Speaking at the end of the encounter, Neymar opened up about his desire to secure a move to Barcelona and vowed to do his best for the Paris outfit in his stay this season.

"Everyone knows I wanted to leave," he said.

"I made it very clear. I won't go into details though, because it affects others.

"But I'm still a PSG player and my intention is to be happy on the pitch. My mind is on PSG.

"I always made it clear that I don't have anything against PSG or the fans. They were personal reasons.

"I had my reasons and I tried my best to make it happen, but unfortunately they didn't let me. "It's already happened, but this is the first and last time I want to talk about it. I'm only thinking about PSG."
