The Red Devils look set to recruit the attacker as part of its squad overhaul plans this summer.

Premier League outfit Manchester United has made its first approach to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele this summer. The Old Trafford outfit has reportedly submitted a €40 million (£35 million) bid in order to secure the signature of the Frenchman who has enjoyed a stellar debut season in Ligue 1.

Dembele joined Lyon from Celtic for a fee of £18 million at the begining of the season. He has massively impressed for Bruno Genesio's side, scored 23 times and aiding his team to a third-place finish in the French League.

Having previously been linked with a move to Manchester United during his Fulham days, it is believed that the 22-year-old striker is once again on the radar of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side. According to Goal France, Dembele caught the eye of former Red Devil and club ambassador Eric Cantona, who, in turn, recommended the forward to his old club. They have also responded by launching a €40 million (£35 million) bid for the Lyon marksman.

Meanwhile, multiple reports claim that Manchester United could possibly part ways with lead striker Romelu Lukaku. Serie A club Inter Milan is said to be interested in the Belgian's service and is preparing a bid in the region of £50 million to secure the striker's service.
