Les Parisiens seem keen on shipping away their all-time top scorer before his contract runs out next season.

Edinson Cavani's words about his future echoed all the way to Madrid, and Atlético is keen on stepping up their interest to sign the Uruguayan striker.

According to a report by Spanish TV network COPE, Atlético execs are starting negotiations to lure PSG's all-time top scorer to the Spanish capital, and the French champions have also shown interest in a possible deal. The report states that there are two ways for this deal to take place, with either Atlético paying the player's $45M price tag, or by swapping players between teams.

That last option seems to be the best bet for both teams, and Atlético would be willing to come up with a cash-plus-player bid to sign Cavani, with Diego Costa allegedly being involved in the negotiation.

Costa is out for the rest of the season due to a rant against the ref during the clash between Atlético and Barcelona.

Costa had a disappointing season with Atlético, but his skills are much appreciated in the French capital. The player had a disagreement with the club after being slapped with an eight-match ban, which the club refused to appeal. Once the club announced they would not appeal that decision, Costa decided to skip a training session, which sparked a falling out with coach Diego Simeone, who is keen to part ways with the player this summer.

Now, with Cavani being shown the exit door, it seems that Simeone is ready to push for this deal to happen, since he has been trying to lure the Uruguayan to the Wanda Metropolitano for the past two summers. Now, with PSG and Atlético both interested, it seems like a matter of time before the deal takes place.
