The Brazilian superstar has given his side a lot to think about following his injury on Sunday afternoon.

Neymar was forced off before full-time after suffering an injury in Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 match-up with Saint-Etienne. The 29 years old Brazilian was stretchered off in the closing moments after being on the receiving end of a poor challenge by the hosts' Yvann Macon, twisting his ankle in a messy challenge.

A hat-trick of Lionel Messi assists was supposed to capture the headlines after ensuring that Mauricio Pochettino's side earned another three points. It was Marquinhos and Angel Di Maria who got on the end of the services, with the former scoring a brace in the encounter which saw Dennis Bouanga open the scoring for Saint-Etienne.

However, PSG were rather left to lament the looming consequences of another lay-off for their record-signing. Initially, Neymar appeared to have evaded the tackle by Yvann Macon shortly after Di Maria had scored Les Parisian's second goal of the night. However, he did not have the smoothest landing, as his foot rotated awkwardly, putting his entire body weight on his twisted ankle.

As the PSG medical personnel ran on to aid the forward leave the pitch, Neymar's teammates were left concerned, stoking fears about his fitness for the rest of the season. The former Barcelona superstar was strapped in an stretcher and had Eric Ebimbe replacing him for the final minutes.

The extent of Neymar's injury is currently unknown although he was pictured walking with clutches at the end of the game. He subsequently took to his social media pages to update his fans on his condition with news of his treatment timeline yet to emerge.
