Manchester United and Wrexham AFC have announced that they will play a preseason friendly during their respective 2023 tours of the United States. A humorous video featuring Sir Alex Ferguson and Wrexham's co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds disclosed that the game will be played in San Diego on July 25.

The video starts with Reynolds and McElhenney initiating a video conference with Sir Alex in order to share their enthusiasm for the impending game. Reynolds then refers to Ferguson as a "great intimidator" before the two abruptly cease the call due to fear. Yet, Ferguson later reveals that the entire video was muted.
