The Portuguese forward bagged a sensational long-range goal to put his side ahead in Friday's clash.

Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo secured another record for himself with his goals in Friday's UEFA Champions League encounter with Olympique Lyon. The 35-year-old Portuguese superstar struck in the night's encounter to seal a 2-1 home win for the Bianconeri.

Ronaldo's first was an equaliser in the 43rd minute after Memphis Depay had put the visitors in front via a controversially awarded spot-kick. The former Real Madrid star restored parity through the same manner with the scorer of the game's opener effecting the infringment this time.

The resumption of the second half offered much optimism for Maurizio Sarri's men who were given command over the game by Cristiano Ronaldo once again. The Bianconeri posterboy wowed onlookers and fans with a stunning left-footed strike from long-range to seal the 2-1 lead.

In hindsight, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner broke Juventus' 95-year-old single season goalscoring record. With the two goals taking his tally to 37 goals in 46 games this season, he became the first player to score as many goals in a single campaign in the history of the Old Lady.

As things stand, the Portuguese forward has scored all of Juventus' seven goals in the knockout stage since moving to Italy from Real Madrid.
