The French midfielder could be set to leave Manchester United this summer, but Los Blancos may not be his final destination.

Paul Pogba's potential transfer away from Manchester United has been discussed for quite a while, and even if some fans and experts believe that his deal with Real Madrid is most-likely to happen than any other, one former team-mate of Pogba has shared how the Frenchman might be closer to going back to Juventus.

Former Arsenal defender and French international Bacary Sagna revealed how Pogba might be more interested in a move to Juventus rather than joining Los Blancos, and yes, Cristiano Ronaldo might have something to do with that, according to Sagna.

"If he leaves the Premier League, I'd say that he would choose Italy over Spain. I see Paul going back to Juve rather than going to Real Madrid, especially due to Cristiano's presence there. Besides, he already knows Juventus, it's the club where he became a star, he loves the club and he already knows it," Sagna said.

Sagna went on and said how Juve's recent business during the past transfer windows might give them an edge over Real Madrid when they pursue their signing.

"Juventus has bought some players such as Ramsey and Cristiano, who is not a kid, but he is being surrounded by young, talented players. If you think about the next two or three years, I believe that Juve has a better potential than Real Madrid, Sagna added.

The former defender added that Real Madrid should also consider adding new players, since he believes that time has caught up with some of their prominent footballers.

"It will be hard for Pogba to join Real Madrid now, because they are not doing so well right now and they are getting old,"

The 37-year-old is without a club after putting an end to his contract with MLS' Montreal Impact last year.
