Liverpool fans hit out at EA SPORTS for 'low' rating of stars in FIFA 20

Ahead of the official release of EA SPORTS' FIFA 20 gameplay, fans of Liverpool have expressed their dissatisfaction with the ratings of some of their side's stars. The backlash ensued after the names of the top 100 players were revealed on Monday.

In contemporary times, EA SPORTS have retained the culture of conducting a countdown of the top ranked 100 players prior to the release of a new FIFA game play. This year has not been an exception. However, the franchise discarded its conventional mode of releasing 10 names every hour by dropping a bulk release.

Reports that have emerged claim that the initiative was employed to override any sense of suspense and surprise ruined by a leaked list of ratings that surfaced on the net last week. Just as it was the case in the unconfirmed top 100 list, Lionel Messi ranked the highest with an overall rating of 94 and was followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr with 93 and 92 respectively.

In scope, reigning European champions Liverpool had seven players named in the Top 100 list with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Andy Robertson and Fabinho being the stars featured. However, the overall ratings of some of the names have drawn criticism from fans who believe their players could have ranked higher than some big names from other teams.

For instance, Mo Salah - who was phenomenal for the Reds last season - was ascribed an overall rating of 90, causing him to be one short of what former Chelsea star Eden Hazard and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne received.

Young full-back Trent-Alexander Arnold who also impressed last season could not break into the Top 100 list whereas UEFA's Best Goalkeeper of the Year Allison Becker was rated par with out-of-form Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea at 89.
