The Portuguese ace admits that the end to his illustrious career could be just around the corner.

According to Cristiano Ronaldo, life in the world of football for him could be shorter than expected by most of his fans.

In an interview with Portuguese TV network TV1, where he also discussed how clubs are paying an excessive amounts of money for players who don't deserve a $100M valuation, the 5-time Ballon D'Or winner hinted that his retirement from football could come as soon as next summer, even though he is not thinking something of the sort right now.

"I'm not thinking about it right now. Maybe I can leave my career next year," Ronaldo said at one point of the interview. Then, he extended his answer to keep fans at ease.

"But I can also play up to 40 or 41, I don't know," the player added.

The Portuguese footballer admitted that he needs to live life one day at a time while making the most out of whatever comes his way.

"What I always say to me is 'enjoy the moment'. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it," CR7 said about the chance to be a professional footballer.

The Portuguese ace is getting ready for his second Serie A season with Juventus, but his main goal, as always, will be to lead the bianconeri to a new UEFA Champions League title.
