El Tri's road to the title begins against a familiar foe. Will Cuba shock the favorite team this Saturday?

Mexico vs Cuba - Injuries and suspensions

Mexico had several problems to come up with a team. Between injuries and absences, El Tri's boss Gerardo Martino had to make wonders to see the 29 men in his preliminary list last before the final roster cut. Men such as "Chicharito" Hernández, Carlos Vela, Héctor Herrera and Marco Fabián chose not to play for Mexico, due to personal reasons or because of an injury, which was Fabian's case.

The Cuban team will have one major absence for this competition, since Yordan Santa Cruz, one of the team's stars, will not be able to play in this competition after not being granted a visa to enter the United States. With his absence, Lorenzo Mambrini will only have one striker on his roster: Maikel Reyes, who plays for Pinar del Río in his home country.
