Pulisic included in reported cash-plus player deal for Juventus ace

Despite being one of the most decisive players for the Blues in recent years and in crunch ties, it seems that Christian Pulisic's time at Chelsea might come to its end this summer.

The American footballer has been deemed surplus to the team's requirements for the entire season, being the attacking player with the least amount of minutes played in the squad. With that in mind, and with Juventus showing interest in his services, the team's hierarchy is reportedly plotting to include the USMNT ace in a cash-plus-player deal that would get defended Matthijs de Ligt to Stamford Bridge.

A report by Football Italia states that De Ligt is one of Thomas Tuchel's main transfer targets after Antonio Rüdiger's exit to Real Madrid. The bianconeri are well aware of the English club's interest, but they have set a $105M price tag on the Dutch footballer, which has forced the Blues to include a player into the mix to try and lower the amount to pay.

The Italian website states that the Blues initially included Timo Werner in their bid to sign De Ligt, but given Juventus' documented interest in Pulisic, the idea of letting the American become part of the bid was green-lit by coach Thomas Tuchel. Now, the ball is on Juventus' corner to see if the deal takes place.

The Dutch International is said to have handed in a transfer request, which could make things easier for Chelsea to sign him. Nevertheless, Juventus' stance of receiving cash only for the player's transfer could complicate things for the 2021 UEFA Champions League winners.
