It was a weekend of varied results for Germany's teams, with some enjoying success - others not so much. Namely, Dortmund continue to chase down Bayern, with a one point gap between the two sides, while Freiburg, who started off so well, have started to slide down the table.

Freiburg's slide: Interestingly, up until November 6th, Christian Streich's side were still one of the most in-form teams in the league. Indeed, Freiburg were actually the only unbeaten side in the Bundesliga. That is, until they faced Bayern Munich, who, despite their admirable efforts, managed to beat them 2-1. Since then, it's seemingly taken their noses out of joint, as Freiburg failed to find their footing after the international break, losing 2-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt. And last weekend, they suffered a third straight loss, this time, to a Bochum side who are now seemingly starting to find their way after a bad start.

Marsch's continued struggles: It's been a rough season so far for American tactician Jesse Marsch, who continues to find it tricky to find the right ground for his new side. RB Leipzig took on Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, with both sides eager for three points after changes in fortunes. Die Roten Bullen were previously on a four game unbeaten streak, only to see that snapped in their last tie, while die Werkself were struggling, going four games sans a win before finally ending that. Well, after the dust settled, it was Leverkusen celebrating following a hard-fought 3-1 win, which has helped them to rise into third, while Leipzig have slid down into eighth.

Leverkusen's impressive away form: Interestingly enough, die Werkself have picked up more points on the road (15) than at home (nine)! Their recent 3-1 win over Leipzig means that Gerardo Seoane's team now have the best away record of any team presently featuring in the Bundesliga, and are still the only side yet to lose in their travels.

Goals, goals, and more goals in thriller: Hoffenheim and Greuther Fürth arguably had the most entertaining match of this round, with a whopping nine goals scored between the two sides. Unfortunately, only one team was celebrating after that match, and it certainly wasn't Greuther Fürth, who are still seeking their first win of the season.

Top Bundesliga matches: December 3 - December 5, 2021

Union Berlin vs RB Leipzig: It'll be back to the drawing board for Jesse Marsch and his troops as they travel to face Union Berlin, who are two points and two places ahead of them in the table. Will the visitors be able to avoid a third straight loss and finally start closing the gap on the teams in the European spots?

Dortmund vs Bayern: It's Der Klassiker, so this obviously is always a big one. However, this season, once again, we have die Schwarzgelben in close pursuit of Bayern. Just one point separates the two sides, but as fans have seen time and time again, Dortmund have repeatedly come up short in these big games. That's allowed Bayern to pull away, and we all know once die Roten get any gap, they're not going to give up their grip on top spot.

As such, all eyes will be on this one, especially as Bayern did struggle in their last match against Arminia Bielefeld, scoring just once. It will be interesting to see if Dortmund finally overcome their Bayern hoodoo, or if their bitter rivals will heap more misery on them as they've done in recent times.

Borussia M'gladbach vs Freiburg: Will the visitors avoid what would be a fourth straight loss when they travel to face Gladbach? Meanwhile, Gladbach, having seen their three game unbeaten run ended last time out, will be naturally looking to get back to winning ways.
