NJ/NY Gotham FC – formerly Sky Blue FC – will make its new brand debut on national television when they visit Exploria Stadium on Wednesday to open its 2021 Challenge Cup campaign against the Orlando Pride.

The clash between the Orlando Pride and Gotham FC will kick off on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be the second of four games that will air on CBS Sports Network in the USA and Canada during the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup. The game will also be available for fans outside of North America on Twitch.

The Orlando Pride is coming off a crushing 2-2 draw against league-debutants Racing Louisville on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Twenty-one-year-old forward Abi Kim scored what most thought would be the game-winner for the Pride in the 88th minute, but Louisville dramatically tied the game in added time via defender Brooke Hendrix.

On the other hand, NJ/NY Gotham FC is looking to get off to a good start in the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup. Gotham FC is one of the two teams that has not played a game yet, along with OL Reign.

Both sides will have players missing for this matchup due to the FIFA international window. The Pride will be without Alex Morgan, Gunnhildur Jonsdottir and Erin McLeod. Marta will be available as she was on Saturday following Brazil's camp cancellation. On the flipside, Gotham FC will be without Carli Lloyd, Midge Purce, Evelyne Viens and Kailen Sheridan, who is recovering from a quad injury.

Given that the two top teams in each division qualify to the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup final, Orlando needs to make up for the two points they missed out on against Racing Louisville on Wednesday with a win over Gotham FC. For now, the North Carolina Courage leads the East with three points and one goal in favor. NJ/NY Gotham FC can get off to a dream start with an away win at Exploria Stadium that could see them take first place away from NC Courage in the East.
