Barcelona's first game of the 2020/21 La Liga season, Arsenal's trip to Anfield, and Bayern vs Dortmund feature in our list of must-watch games between today and Wednesday.

Liverpool and Arsenal lock horns on Matchday 3 in one of two standout fixtures in the upcoming EPL round

Matchday 3 in the English Premier League is upon us and, undoubtedly, the standout fixture of this round is Liverpool vs Arsenal. This game, live on SiriusXM FC and Peacock on Monday for fans in the US, will see the defending champions take on the side that recently beat them in the Community Shield Cup. In fact, Arteta has beaten Klopp twice since taking over at the Emirates Stadium and will be keen on making it three wins out of three in their trip to Anfield.

Both sides have begun the season with a perfect record but that will come to an end for one side, at the very least, come Monday. The north London giants are fresh off their 2-1 victory over West Ham, a game which saw Aubameyang and Co. against the ropes for large portions. An improved performance will be needed from Arteta's men. As for the Merseyside giants, they head into this fixture on the back of their 2-0 win over Chelsea and will look to add another big-six club to their list of victims.

Liverpool will face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup 4th round, meaning their EPL showdown is the first of two clashes over the span of four days

Liverpool, Arsenal, Carabao Cup

Speaking of Chelsea, their goal is to overcome that 2-0 loss at home to the Reds. Christensen was sent off in that game and will thus be unavailable. Question marks linger over Kepa's starting role after yet another individual error, with the Blues completing a deal for Senegalese goalkeeper Édouard Mendy. New signing Kai Havertz scored a hat-trick in the Carabao Cup and will look to combine with Timo Werner for their first goals in the league. Their opponent is West Brom, with the game being aired live on NBC Sports, UNIVERSO, and Telemundo.

Another standout fixture from Matchday 3 is Man City vs Leicester. This will be the Citizens' first home game of the season, having kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Wolves. The Foxes, who are currently top of the table, will look to maintain their winning streak in their trip to the Etihad Stadium – live on Telemunddo and NBC Sports for USA fans. Elsewhere, Man United go in search of their first three points when they visit Brighton on Saturday in the early 7:30 AM ET early kick-off. Having lost their opening game 3-1 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, a win is the only acceptable result.

Away from the Premier League and over to the Women's FA Cup, Arsenal and Tottenham will lock horns in one of several exciting quarter-final ties. This game could see newly-signed superstar Alex Morgan make her debut for Spurs Ladies and what a better debut could she ask for than the North London Derby! The prospect of seeing the USWNT ace go head-to-head with Arsenal goalscoring machine Vivianne Miedema is enough to excite anyone.

Alex Morgan is in north London and is ready to go!

Barcelona kick off their 2020/21 La Liga campaign with Villarreal, Juventus gearing up for highly-anticipated clash vs Roma

All eyes will be on Barcelona once Matchday 3 in La Liga begins. The Blaugrana kick off their campaign with a 3:00 PM ET showdown vs Villarreal on Sunday, live on beIN Sports and Fanatiz USA for the Spanish Primera División enthusiasts in the United States. It will be intriguing to see how the Catalan giants fare this season, having appointed a new coach in the form of Ronald Koeman. Additionally, all eyes will be on Lionel Messi after the iconic Argentine was denied a Camp Nou exit and forced to remain at the club for the final year of his contract.

How will Koeman line up his players? What will be his go-to starting eleven? What tactics will he employ in order to remedy the embarrassment that was their 8-2 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich? Fans will get insight into the tactician's plans for 2020/21 come Sunday's fixture. Barcelona will be without Luis Suarez and Nelson Semedo, having moved to Atletico and Wolves respectively, but the likes of Trincao and Coutinho will be pushing for starts.

Barca will no longer be with their third top scorer in history when they kick off their 2020/21 campaign

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be taking to the field a day earlier in their 3:00 PM ET clash with Real Betis, also live on beIN Sports and Fanatiz USA. Los Blancos began their campaign with a goalless draw vs Real Sociedad and will be in search of their first three points of 2020/21. Failure to do so will see them suffer another early setback in their title defense.

In Italy, all the hype surrounds Sunday's Roma vs Juventus clash. ESPN+ will bring this 2:45 PM ET kick-off live to US screens as the Giallorossi look to bounce back from their 3-0 opening day defeat when they host the reigning champions. The Old Lady, on the other hand, kicked things off with a 3-0 win over Sampdoria in their first competitive game under new boss Andrea Pirlo and will be keen on maintaining a perfect start. Elsewhere, Inter Milan kicks off their campaign on Saturday, taking on Fiorentina at 2:45 PM ET.

DFL Supercup ushers in the first of many Der Klassiker clashes, plus all the key action from the USA and Copa Libertadores

The DFL Supercup is here! It is one of the latter fixtures on our list but it a must-watch game nonetheless. Bayern Munich, having won both the Bundesliga and DFL Pokal last term, will take on last season's runners-up Dortmund in the latest edition of Der Klassiker. Lewandowski and Co. enter this tie having secured the quadruple, beating Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup to add to their Champions League and domestic success. Victory over Dortmund would be the penultimate step to the sextuple. It should be noted that this is a repeat of the 2019 edition which BVB won, beating Bayern 2-0. Who will triumph this time around? Tune in to ESPN+ if you live in the United States and catch the action live at 2:30 PM ET on Wednesday, September 30.

Heading over to the United States, the weekend brings a fresh round of NWSL fixtures, the standout tie being Chicago Red Stars vs Washington Spirit on Saturday at 1:00 PM ET. CBS will bring this highly-anticipated fixture live to the US screens as the broadcasters aim to build on the NWSL's ever-growing viewership. CBS racked in a whopping 495,00 viewers for last weekend's North Carolina Courage and Orlando City game, making it the third most-watched game in the competition's history, and they will be keen on attaining similar numbers for Saturday's SeatGeek Stadium encounter. In the MLS, Columbus Crew, one of the best – if not the best – teams in the top-flight this season, take on Toronto FC on Sunday at 7:30 PM ET. The early 3:30 PM ET Nashville SC vs Houston Dynamo kick-off on Saturday is the only match that will be televised nationally this weekend, being aired on Univision and TUDN USA – Toronto FC vs Columbus Crew will be available for home markets and on subscription-based live streaming platforms such as Fox Sports Ohio and ESPN+.

Over to the Copa Libertadores, there are three games to watch out for, the first being Boca Juniors vs Libertad on Tuesday at 8:30 PM ET as the Argentine giants look to seal their spot in the next round with one game to go. River Plate vs São Paulo at 8:30 PM ET the following day is another interesting fixture as Los Millonarios could eliminate the Brazilians from the competition while keeping first place within reach. Finally, we have Flamengo vs Independiente Del Valle as the Mengão go in search of revenge for the 5-0 defeat they suffered against their opponents in the reverse fixture.

Messi slams Barcelona over Suarez exit

Luis Suarez has finally sealed his Barcelona exit, joining Atletico Madrid after being told to find a new club by newly-appointed coach Ronald Koeman. His departure was an emotional one for the Uruguayan and an unpleasant turn of events for close friend Lionel Messi. The Argentine has now taken to social media to bid the iconic forward a farewell and slam the club for their treatment of the club's third all-time leading goalscorer.

"You did not deserve for them to throw you out like they did. But the truth is that at this stage nothing surprises me anymore," was La Pulga's farewell packed with a jibe.
