Sarri believes this Citizens star is the right man to partner with Cristiano.

Football has been suspended in Italy but this not preventing clubs from planning for the upcoming transfer window, be it in the summer as usual or at a later date. Juventus are one of those teams, with the Serie A champions eyeing a player exchange for one Man City ace.

That player is none other than Gabriel Jesus. Despite being an undeniable talent, scoring 37 goals in 44 Premier League starts for the Citizens, the Brazilian is being linked with an Etihad Stadium exit. The reason is obvious – he is frustrated with playing second-fiddle to Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine is the main man up front for Man City and Jesus, 23, has suitors ready to profit off of this situation. The player’s agent did not rule out an exit amid the rumors but stated that the Brazilian would leave only if he is no longer wanted by Guardiola.

According to Calcio Mercato, the player Juventus are ready to offer in exchange for Gabriel is Diego Costa. The former Bayern Munich man worked under Pep during their time together at the Allianz Arena and has found playing time harder to come by under Sarri’s reign, making only 14 apps in the 26 Serie A games played.

Costa could be a beneficial addition at the Etihad Stadium due to a number of reasons. Leroy Sane is one of them as he looks destined to depart in the next transfer window and will need replacing. Furthermore, Raheem Sterling has been hit or miss this season and Guardiola could do with options on the wing.

However, it is difficult to see Pep selling Jesus given that Aguero turns 32 this June. The Argentine remains one of the league’s deadliest strikers, undoubtedly, but due to his age, that might not remain the case for long and in Gabriel they boast a player who could carry the mantle for several years.
