The Catalan giants failed to impress in yet another European away game.

On Tuesday, Barcelona came away from Napoli with a positive result. The Blaugrana visited the Italian giants for the first leg of their round of 16 clash and drew 1-1, grabbing an away goal ahead of the return leg.

However, despite the result, the Catalans were far from impressive and put in another disappointing away performance in the Champions League. This was something Gennaro Gattuso was keen to point out after the final whistle.

Griezmann recued a draw for the Spanish giants but for the most part, the Italian side were comfortable and untroubled against Messi and Co. Gattuso praised his side for their display and trolled the Blaugrana for their performance, or lack thereof.

"Since [Barca coach Quique] Setien arrived, they systematically push five or six players into attack, they don't just pass and that's it," Gattuso said to Sky Sport Italia (as per Goal).

"They force you to defend deep and we had to play like that, because if there were spaces back there, they could really hurt us.

"I think they barely grazed us tonight, they hardly had a single shot on goal. They could've been there all night and not scored, but we conceded after one single error. They didn't hurt us, it barely tickled."

Napoli will now be heading to the Camp Nou, Barcelona’s fortress. Despite their away woes, the Catalan giants are a force to be reckoned with at home but after their convincing display, Gattuso’s men can be confident of progressing.

Setien, meanwhile, has lost Vidal and Busquets for the second leg due to suspension. Furthermore, Pique picked up what appears to be an ankle injury and could miss the return leg, leaving the Spanish heavyweights with depleted squad.
