The Red Devils are keen on landing the Portuguese midfielder but have hit a huge stumbling block.

It is no secret that Man United are interested in Bruno Fernandes. The Red Devils pursued the Sporting CP in the summer and have reignited their interest in the midfielder this month.

However, according to TVI 24, the Premier League giants have hit a huge stumbling block. The Portuguese news outlet write that the two clubs are at loggerheads over the transfer fee.

The report states that there is a whopping $17M difference between Man United's offering price and Sporting's valuation. The Old Trafford side are not willing to go over $55M for the Portuguese ace while his employers are demanding nothing less than $72M.

Personal terms have already been agreed with the player, as per ESPN FC, but the issue of his transfer fee is delaying his move. Whether Man United will budge and cough up the extra money or risk missing out on the 25-year-old remains unknown.

The Primeira Liga outfit were keen on Rojo and Perreira but both men turned down a move to Portugal. As a result, Fernandes' asking price shot up and despite offering bonuses, the Lions are not pleased with Man United's offer.

Solskjaer is in a desperate situation due to the injuries to McTominay and Pogba. Sporting are aware of this and are probably ready to play hardball. Ole will need a commanding presence in the middle of the park in order to make the top four but unfortunately, the Bruno transfer is now "at risk".
