The second half of the season in the Spanish top-flight promises to be one for the ages. Here's how things will go down this weekend.

Matchday 20 in La Liga will mark the beginning of the second half of the league, and there is still much to play for in the 2019-20 campaign.

With the Super Cup behind us, and with a new coach leading Barcelona in their attempt to win a third league in a row, this week's games could give fans and experts an idea on what to expect from their favorite teams.

Leganés and Getafe will get things going on Friday, while Real Madrid and Atlético will pick up where they left things when they host Sevilla and visit Eibar, respectively.

Sunday's big game will see Barcelona hosting Granada, in what will be Quique Setién's debut as Blaugrana boss. Earlier that day, Real Betis will show off their new signing, midfielder Guido Rodríguez, when they lock horns against fifth-placed Real Sociedad.

Without further ado, here's what you need to keep an eye on for Matchday 20 in La Liga.

Team news - Who's in, who's out?

Barcelona - Injured: Ousmané Dembelé, Luis Suárez.

Real Madrid - Injured: Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard. Suspended: Fede Valverde. Doubtful: Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema.

Atlético Madrid - Injured: Sime Vrsaljko, Diego Costa, Thomas Lemar, Koke. Doubtful: José Giménez.

Coach's quotes ahead of Matchday 20

Barcelona will face the second half of the season under new management after Ernesto Valverde was given the boot by Los Blaugranas. Quique Setién takes over, and his arrival could change how things work at Camp Nou, even for the big names.

"All the guys in the first team must know that if those guys in the lower categories deserve to play with us, we will make way for it to happen. I've spoken to Messi and some of the other to tell them that there's a difference between the admiration I feel for them and what everyone has to do to help in this team. Everyoe must do what's required from them," the coach stated.
