Preview: Leverkusen vs Juventus

Juventus come into this game having suffered their first defeat of the season. The Bianconeri were trounced 3-1 by Lazio last weekend, which sees them now two points behind Inter in the Scudetto race. While it's still early on in the campaign, the buzz has already started about Maurizio Sarri's side's capability to fully challenge a very formidable Inter side for the Scudetto this season. As such, Juventsu will be keen on getting back to winning ways, especially considering that they have failed to win their last two Serie A games, first dropping points in a shock draw against minnows Sassuolo and then losing to Lazio for the first time in 16 years.

Still, Juventus are already through to the round of 16, so this game doesn't count for much. Nonetheless, they will want to end their group stage campaign on a high note and although Sarri will rotate for this game, expect him to field a solid squad. Leverkusen, meanwhile, will be gunning for all three points as they still have a shot at progressing from their quartet should they beat the Bianconeri in their final match, especially with second-placed Atletico Madrid having hit a bad patch of form. As things stand, Leverkusen look set to be heading into the Europa League, but if they can win this game and Atletico slip up against bottom-ranked Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow, they will sneak into the round of 16.

Will Juventus get their act together after a humbling loss in Rome over the weekend? Or will Leverkusen, who have a pretty solid record as of late against Serie A sides on home turf, add more frustration for them on matchday six?

Team news: Leverkusen vs Juventus
