The league's chiefs have put new measures in place to handle difficult club officials.

Managers and club officials will be shown the red and yellow cards for any breach of rules while a game in ongoing, according to the Premier League. The latest development comes on the back of an update in the Laws of the Game by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Coaches and team officials will be required to be on their best behavior as any individual found guilty can be cautioned or outrightly sent off by the matchday referee. In any case the offender cannot be identified, the Premier League has revealed that "the card will be shown to the senior coach in the technical area, usually the manager or head coach, as the person responsible for the other team officials."

According to the Premier League's official website, the experimentation of the new approach to dealing with difficult coaches have already been concluded. The introduction of the punishment adds up to a host of changes to be witnessed ahead of the 2019/2020 Premier League season.

On Monday, a new head-to-head rule was also announced to deal with the prospect of teams finishing level on point in a race for the title, European places or relegation. The rule will come into effect if teams are level on points, goal difference and goals scored and will, as a result, make the chances of teams featuring in end of season play-offs very slim.
