The Frenchman's nod was met with mixed reactions by fans, who named a few players they felt deserved a spot in this lineup.

The 2018-19 PFA Team of the Year is out, and just like with every other voting of the sort, it has its fair share of controversy,

Manchester City and Liverpool dominate the lineup, with six and four players from each team. The only footballer not playing for either team is none other than Paul Pogba.

Manchester City saw Ederson, Aymeric Laporte, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling getting the nod. Three of those men were in the shortlist to become PFA Player of the Year, which eventually went to Virgil Van Dijk.

As for Liverpool, three of their defenders got picked by their peers: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, and Andrew Robertson got well-deserved nods, considering that the Reds have the best defensive unit in the league. Sadio Mané was the other Liverpool player to get picked.

Pogba's selection was met with mixed reactions from fans and experts, especially since Eden Hazard was the only PFA Player of the Year nominee that was left out of this stellar lineup. Even if the Frenchman's numbers are quite decent, the Belgian is considered by most as the best player in the league, which makes his snub even more baffling.
