Monkey chants were directed at a few black Three Lions players in Monday's win, but the Man City ace made sure to silence them.

England made it two wins out of two in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, scoring five goals once more en route to another impressive three points. However, that victory was sadly marred by racist abuse aimed at some of the Three Lions' black players.

Danny Rose and Callum Hudson-Odoi fell victim to monkey chants from the stands in another sad case of racism in football. A cigarette was thrown at the young Chelsea attacker as well, with England confirming they will report Montenegro over this incident.

Raheem Sterling, a player who has spoken out against racism in a number of instances this season, responded to the vile crowd both during the game and after the final whistle. While the Man City star admitted he did not hear anything, he made sure to silence the crowd after being informed by Rose of the situation with his goal celebration.

After netting his team's fifth goal of the night, the 24-year-old put his hands to his ears in response to the abuse. The Premier League ace later posted his goal celebration on Twitter, writing: "Best way to silence the haters (and yeah I mean racists)."

Speaking after the final whistle, the former Liverpool starlet argued that Montenegro should play behind closed doors. When asked if that punishment is required, Sterling said: "Yep. Something serious for them, to make them think twice about doing it again.

"To be honest with you, I didn't hear it personally, but Danny made it clear that's what they were doing. I just wanted to show them that you're going to need more than that to upset us and stop us because what can I do?"

Raheem has called for harsher repercussions, previously saying: "It's now time for the people that are in charge to put a real stamp on it because you can fine someone but what's that going to do?"

Speaking after the game, manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that he heard the racist chants from the stands and insisted that a report will be filed. Hudson-Odoi also labeled this disgusting incident as "unacceptable" in the wake of the victory.
