The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has outlined the cons of managing the Blues.

Pep Guardiola has stated that Chelsea's revolving-door policy for managers made the idea of managing the Blues unappealing to him before his move to the Premier League. On Sunday, the Spanish coach will lead his Manchester City brigade to Wembley to take on Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea side in the final of the League Cup.

With rumors of the latter's imminent sack gaining pace in recent times, the effect of the outcome of the impending clash cannot be understated. Just like Guardiola, Sarri is momentarily struggling to find his feet in the English top-flight league in his first season.

After successfully establishing his "Sarriball" brand of football, the 60-year-old Italian manager has come under massive criticism after his style failed in the heavy defeats to Bournemouth and Man City as well as a 2-0 loss to Manchester United over the last few weeks.

However, amid Sarri's shortcomings, Pep Guardiola remains a staunch admirer of his style. The Man City manager believes that the pressure mounted on the former Napoli manager at Chelsea is a bit unfair. He further stated his reason for not entertaining the idea of managing the Blues following respective spells with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

"I was never a potential option for Chelsea, I was in Barcelona and Bayern," he told a media conference on Friday.

"I decided to go to Munich and came here with Ferran and Txiki, they trust me and I trust them.

"In the first season when it was difficult, I said we needed time and they supported me, the players knew who was the manager and who would be the manager, it was stable.

"That's the best way to do something for a long time, not just a short period.

"The situation is different [from Sarri's]. In my first year, the club never doubted me," he added.

"It was never in the media that I'd be sacked if they lose this game. When (Antonio) Conte won the title, people were saying he'd be sacked when they lost one or two games the next season. But he had won the Premier League two or three months before.

"I said the same after we lost there (to Chelsea in December) and won here, my opinion of him is the same."
