Things were not off to a good start for Manchester City, and their third straight loss in UEFA Champions League games at home confirms it.
The Citizens, who had Pep Guardiola watching from the stands, were unable to come back against Olympique Lyon, hurting their chances of winning the UEFA Champions League once again.
Despite the massive investment made since Guardiola's arrival, the team seems to fall short during European competitions, and now, Pep's crew has found a way to make history for all the wrong reasons.

Furthermore, history seems to be turning its back on Manchester City, since only two teams have managed to make it to the tournament's final after losing their first game in this competition.
"Betting services saw Man City as the favorite to win this edition of the UEFA Champions League. Let's recall that no team that lost its first game in any UCL edition won the title. Only two teams made it to the final (Milan 1994-95 and Bayern, 1998-99)"
