There could be few a incomings and outgoings at Manchester United before the end of the winter transfer window.

Former Manchester United midfield star Ander Herrera has been tipped for a return to Old Trafford after refusing to be a part of Paris Saint-Germain's proposed swap deal for Tottenham Hotspur's Tanguy Ndombele. The 32-year-old has reportedly stated that he will only be interested in a move back to his old Premier League club and insists that he is happy in the French capital.

Herrera joined PSG in a free transfer in 2019 after refusing Manchester United's contract extension. Since moving to Ligue 1 the Spaniard has been a regular in Mauricio Pochettino's side and has been crucial in their title runs in the last couple of years. This season, he has started 11 out of 17 games and has scored a few important goals along the line.

With Tottenham Hotspur looking to offload Ndombele, a proposal involving cash plus the former Lyon star was submited to PSG for either Ander Herrera or Georginio Wijnaldum. However, although the French club are keen on the Spur star's recruitment, an alternative means could be considered with Herrera stating that he is not willing to join the North London club. According to The Athletic, the former Athletic Club midfielder says he is happy in France and is willing to see out the rest of his contract which expires in 2024.

Since Herrera's departure from Old Trafford, Manchester United have been unable to sign his replacement. In recent months, it has been speculated that the Red Devils are in the market for a defensive midfielder with Marsielle's Boubacar Kamara and Dennis Zakaria of Borussia Monchengladbach standing out among the names of those who could be recruited by Ralf Rangnick's side. At the moment, it remains unclear whether a return for Herrera will be considered by the Premier League club.

Meanwhile, Donny van de Beek - who has become surplus to requirement at Old Trafford - has been tipped for a move away before the end of this transfer window. The former Ajax star is reportedly on the radar of Crystal Palace and could be joining the Eagles as with head coach Patrick Vieira pushing to sign him on loan for the remainder of the season.

This season, Van de Beek has only played 68 minutes of Premier League football, having struggled to earn the trust of either Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Rangnick. The Dutchman's contract with United has three and a half years left on it, and could be in the plans of the club's new manager next season.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United and Crystal Palace are now in talks for the ex-Ajax star to join the latter in a short-term deal. Vieira is reportedly determined to sign the 24-year-services old's for the remainder of the season, despite the fact that the Eagles will not have the opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis this summer, according to Romano.
