These familiar foes will lock horns once again in an Olympic Football tournament. Follow this clash with our detailed guide.

Korea Republic and Mexico will play the last Quarter-final match in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Football tournament this Saturday. Both teams have shown their worth and football fans will be in for a treat when they lock horns at the Yokohama International Stadium.

The Korean team makes it to this game with a record of two wins and one loss, which was good enough for them to claim the top spot in Group B. The Taeguk Warriors will enter this game after a six-nil win over Honduras in their last group game, which should fill them with confidence prior to their clash against another CONCACAF team. Their only loss so far in the tournament, which also saw them concede for the only time in the competition, came in their opening game against New Zealand.

Mexico will also enter this game after winning two of their fixtures in the group stage. El Tri kicked off with a bang by beating France 4-1. Unfortunately for them, they lost to Japan with a 2-1 score to complicate their path to the next round. Eventually, Jaime Lozano's men claimed a three-nil win over South Africa to claim a spot in the knockout stage.

The Korean team will make it to this game with a full squad to choose from, as they have not reported any injuries or suspensions ahead of the match. The only players that are one yellow card away from being suspended if they make the semi-finals are Lee Kang-In and Seung-Won Jeong.

On the other hand, Mexico will have a couple of absences for this game. The first one of those is that of Carlos Rodríguez, who was sent off against South Africa and was handed a one-match ban. The other absence for El Tri will be Erick Aguirre, who picked up an injury during Mexico's second game and has been ruled out for the rest of the competition for that muscular problem. Added to that, Jorge Sánchez, Alexis Vega, and César Montes are one booking away from missing the semi-finals.

This will be the fifth game between these teams in an Olympic football tournament, and the general outcome of those games has favored the Asian side. Those four previous games have ended in two wins for the Koreans, while the other two have ended in a draw. Nevertheless, none of those games have taken place in a knockout stage.
