Manchester United will look to finish the mission to get into the semi-final when they host Granada at Old Trafford.

Manchester United vs Granada preview

Manchester United will host Granada at Old Trafford in the second leg of the their UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday night. The Red Devils are poised to get the job done after securing a 2-0 win in the first leg of the tie. Goals by Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes secured the win for Solskjaer's men as the hosts struggled to get on the scoresheet.

After missing out on the title last season, Manchester United now have the opportunity to make amends and already have a foot over the line ahead of the penultimate round. Solskjaer's men were favorites to clinch the 2020/2021 trophy but were defeated in th semis by Sevilla in the single-elimination clash. This season, they are well placed to repeat their triumphant feat in 2017, and an aggreate win over Granada will secure them a date with either Ajax or Roma.

Manchester United go into the clash on the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur. After conceding a Heung-min Son opener in the first half, the Reds fought back to secure three crucial points, with Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood all hitting the target. The result extended the Old Trafford outfit's winning run to three in their last three games. So far, they have recorded just one defeat across their last 18 matches in all competitions, winning ten games and drawining the remaining seven.

The Premier League club will welcome Granada to Old Trafford on an eight-game unbeaten streak on home soil. However, the fact that they have drawn with AC Milan and Real Sociedad in the within the same period in the competition, gives room for their Spanish opponents to believe in the possibility of getting a good result.

Their form in recent weeks has however been questionable, with Diego Martinez's men losing four of their last five outings. Over the weekend, they managed to get back to winning ways, defeating relegation candidates Real Valladolid 2-1. However, a place in the Europa League next season looks unlikely through La Liga with the Nazaríes sitting two places beneath the qualification spot. An alternative route exists but they will be required to defy odds to defeat Manchester United.

Team news
