The disciplinary commission has finally brought the winger to book for his action in the clash on September 13.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) announced on Wednesday that Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria is suspended for his side's next four games. The 30-year-old Argentine international had been under investigation since September 13 and has now been found guilty of spitting at Marseille midfielder Alvaro Gonzalez in the frantic Le Classique that was marred by a late brawl.

Last Wednesday, the disciplinary commission of the LFP delivered a updated sanctions for five players who were caught and sent off in the fracas that culminated PSG's defeat. Neymar Jr, Leandro Paredes, Dario Benedetto, Layvin Kurzawa and Jordan Amavi were the stars who were handed the suspensions for different reasons.

During previous week's meeting, it was made clear that Angel Di Maria was also under investigation after a footage emerged that the player had spat in the direction of Alvaro Gonzalez in the course of proceedings. The player, who has since played in Les Parisians' wins over Metz and Nice, is now banned for upcoming games against Angers, Nimes, Dijon and Nantes. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star will mark his return when his side hosts to Stade Rennais on October 8, 2020.

Meanwhile, a pronouncement is yet to be made on the case racial abuse involving Marseille's Alvaro Gonzalez and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar Jr. According to a statement by the LFP, a verdict will be made on September 30.
