For the first-time ever, a free-to-air television channel will be able to broadcast Bundesliga matches in that region of the world.

The German Bundesliga and its subsidiary, Bundesliga International, have signed broadcast deals with four different Mexican networks to air Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches in that country. The agreement enforces the league's diffusion strategy, with Sky México, Claro Sports, FOX Sports México, and TV Azteca being key to the league's expansion in the world.

The agreement with these companies will offer a variety of options for football fans in this country, which will be able to follow all the games everywhere they go.

Sky

Sky México announced last week their status as the main broadcast platform for the Bundesliga in Mexico for the next two seasons. The agreement signed by the league and Sky allows the company to air three games per Matchday exclusively in Mexico and in Central America via its recently created Bundesliga channel. Added to that, Sky Mexico has access to six non-exclusive games each matchday. The deal will also include broadcasting of select Bundesliga 2 games, the German Super Cup, and all promotion and relegation matches exclusively.

Moreover, the deal between Sky Mexico and the Bundesliga will give the network exclusive rights to air all of Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund's games, including "Der Klassiker", which is scheduled to be played on November 7, 2020.

Claro Sports

The regional pay-tv network Claro Sports will also broadcast the Bundesliga this season, as they have signed a one-game per matchday broadcast deal that will see the network covering games being held on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in Mexico and in 17 Latin American countries. That game will be available to watch live and on-demand via the network's linear channels and on its online platform, Marca Claro.

Fox Sports

Bundesliga International will continue its long-term partnership with Fox Sports México by allowing the network to air over 50 Bundesliga games this season. The agreement will see Fox Sports airing at least one game each Saturday morning, increasing Bundesliga coverage on all platforms throughout the season.

TV Azteca

TV Azteca will become the home of the Bundesliga during its "Football Fridays" by adding one game prior to their Liga MX broadcasts that day. This will be the first agreement between the Bundesliga and a free-to-air network in Mexico, which will benefit from the popularity of the Mexican league and the engagement generated by one of the most exciting leagues in the world. This will give fans an opportunity to keep discovering the Bundesliga via the network's website and via its terrestrial channel, Azteca 7.

"Mexico is a clear example of our strategy to bring the best of German football to more fans by making the league as accessible as possible. Whether it is pay-TV, FTA, via linear channels or digital, these agreements with established media partners will bring the best engagement, live content, and innovative story telling to our Mexican fanbase day in, day out," Bundesliga International CEO Robert Klein stated.

Besides all Bundesliga games, content related to the league will also be available in the form of highlights shows in everyone of these networks, daily news, and more. The agreements between the league, with the pay-tv networks, the FTA company and all digital platforms will fulfill Bundesliga International's efforts to bring German football closer to Mexican football fans.
