The Ivorian's sibling was a victim of a fatal shooting, with this tragic news breaking on Monday morning.

Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has been struck with tragedy as it has been confirmed that his brother has passed away. Christopher Aurier, who was the Spurs man's younger sibling, is said to have been the victim of a fatal shooting.

This sad incident occurred in the early hours of Monday. The 26-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach and was unfortunately pronounced dead upon hospital arrival.

This tragedy is believed to have happened at a nightclub in Toulouse, with the gunman fleeing the scene. An investigation has been opened but the perpetrator is yet to be caught.

Christopher was a footballer, playing for French fifth division side Toulouse Rodeo. He began his career at Lens alongside his brother and even came close to a move to England back in 2011, undergoing a trial at Brentford.

Serge was involved in the North London Derby hours before the tragedy, helping Spurs to a 2-1 win over their bitter rivals. However, the joy of Sunday's victory was cut short by the loss of a beloved one, with Spurs and many other taking to social media to pass their condolences and show their support for the Ivorian.
