This comes amid talks of the German boss going on sabbatical after winning the Champions League.

The future of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool has emerged as a concern for the club and its supporters amid stalling talks over an extension. However, the manager himself has offered an update, giving words of optimism to the Anfield faithful.

The Merseyside giants are in no panic at the moment. The German boss signed a six-year deal with the club back in June 2016, which means he has three more years left on his contract. Nonetheless, the club owners Fenway Sports Group are eager on agreeing an extension.

However, the former Dortmund boss has been stalling over agreeing new and improved terms with the European champions. Klopp, who pockets approximately $8M per year at Liverpool, could earn a pay raise after leading the team to the Champions League title but there have been talks of the tactician going on sabbatical after their 2018/19 success.

The 52-year-old has now poured cold water over those claims, stating that he can't imagine the day he walks out of Anfield. Despite this, the German boss promised he will not overextend his stay should the Reds' fortunes take a turn for the worse under his tutelage.

"I cannot imagine a day (when I will not be Liverpool manager) but it is not important," Klopp said (as per the Daily Mail) ahead of Liverpool's friendly against BVB.

"I don't want ever to be in a situation where people are annoyed that I am still here. That's the truth. You have that situation in football. It must always be a win-win situation.

"At this moment, it is 100 percent and we will see how long that will be. Whatever discussions came up... a few headlines that I saw, not a lot, that I will finish for sure in three years, that I will sign a contract and all that stuff. I have three years. It is all good. I love this team - they are brilliant.

"The age group of the boys is good; my age is good for what I have to do. The owners like what I do; I like what the owners are doing. I will not leave before the contract is ending. That is my side. We have enough time to make decisions in that department. There is no need to do it now."

Liverpool are one of the favorites for the title for the upcoming season. Van Dijk and Co. came close to winning the English top-flight last time around but narrowly missed out on it to Man City. Klopp claims that Guardiola's side are the favorites but he is ready for another mouth-watering competition.

"It would be great to be around Man City again,' Klopp added. "That would mean we have a chance to go past them. They are the favorite again. We chase them. I don't think they would have made 98 points if we were not putting pressure on them."
