All good things must come to an end, and Edinson Cavani's time at PSG is close to conclude this summer.
According to a report by Le 10 Sport, the Uruguayan striker is set to leave PSG this summer, especially after Atlético Madrid's interest in the striker has re-ignited. The player returned to the pitch this weekend after overcoming a long spell on the sidelines due to an injury.
The 32-year-old striker has been tipped to leave the Parc des Princes this summer due to his poor relationship with Neymar numerous times, but this time, it seems that Kylian Mbappé's surge as the team's top scorer is the main reason why the Uruguayan could part ways with the club after six seasons, where he became the club's all-time top scorer.
In fact, PSG has reportedly slapped a $45M transfer tag on Cavani, in order to help the club meet UEFA's Financial Fair Play requirements.
Atlético Madrid's interest in signing the player has not deterred since last year, and with Diego Costa's dismal season, it would not be a surprise to see the South American striker replacing the Brazilian-born footballer as Los Colchoneros' No. 9.
Cavani himself left a window open for a transfer right after the end of the game that secured PSG's eighth Ligue 1 title.
"I still have a year left in my contract here, and I feel alright. I'm happy with the teams, life in Paris and with all the fans. But this is football, you never know where you will end up next season," Cavani said.
The Uruguayan has scored 20 goals in all comps for PSG in the injury-plagued 2018-19 season. He was only been able to play 23 games for Les Parisiens in the ongoing campaign, but the player has been able to cement his legacy as the club's all-time top scorer, with 190 goals in 263 games.
