Manchester United will look to hand a number of their fringe players starts when they welcome Young Boys to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The story so far

Manchester United will host Young Boys at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and will hope to hand a number of their fringe players as well as their academy startlets the opportunity to feature in the competition this season. With a 2-0 win over Villarreal on Matchday 5 and a 3-3 tie between Atalanta and Young Boys, the Red Devils have clinched the group with one game to spare. As a result, the race for second place is all-or-nothing, with Atalanta and Villarreal set for a clash in their final group game in Bergamo, with the Spanish side leading by one point.

In contrast, Young Boys still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa League and will look to stage an upset at Old Trafford while hoping that the other group clash ends in a draw. The Swiss outfit defeated the Red Devils when they met earlier this season and will hope that the absence of several first team players for the Premier League outfit will accord them the luxury to nick the win.
