What are the must-watch games this week?

CONCACAF Gold Cup Final: USA vs Mexico – The supremacy in the North American region will be determined this Sunday when the USMNT and Mexico lock horns at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. These teams met just over a month ago in the CONCACAF Nations League Final, where the Yanks defeated El Tri after extra time. This time, both teams seem to have what it takes to win the title, which could see Mexico win back-to-back Gold Cup titles for the first time since 2009 and 2011. If you are keen on watching the game and you live in the U.S., keep track of it via Fox Sports 1 and the Fox Sports App if you are an English-speaking user, or via Univisión and TUDN for those who want to listen to the game in Spanish.

Sporting CP vs Sporting Braga – Club football is back with the Supertaça de Portugal, one of the first major trophies being played around the globe between Sporting, the Primeira Liga Champions, and the Taça de Portugal holders, Sporting Braga. Sporting will play for this title after a six-year absence, while Sporting Braga will try to win their first Supertaça title after three failed attempts.

Lille vs PSG: Trophée des Champions – Defending Ligue 1 champions Lille will take on PSG, who have put up quite a squad to try and win every trophy they enter this season. Lille ended PSG's winning run in the domestic top-flight, and PSG's road to redemption would kick off on the right foot if they are able to beat Les Dogues. Watch this game in the United States via beIN Sports, beIN Sports Connect, and beIN Sports en Español.

Women's football has kept fans on the edge of their seats with the Olympic Football tournament taking place in Tokyo 2020. The tournament has given fans quite a few surprises, which are set to continue with the competition's semi-finals set to take place on Monday.

The first semi-final match will feature none other than the USWNT and Canada, who eliminated The Netherlands and Brazil, both via a penalty shootout. The other semi-final will take place hours later, as the surprising Australian side get ready to face Sweden. The Aussies defeated Great Britain in the Quarter-finals, while the Blagult eliminated host nation Japan with a 3-1 score.

Speaking about club football, the NWSL will give fans something to talk about with the game between the North Carolina Courage and the Orland Pride, which has been scheduled for Saturday. If that was not enough, fans can always wait for Sunday's clash between the Houston Dash and NJ/NY Gotham.

Amazon Prime announces new documentary featuring Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski's fans will soon get some insight into what exactly made the Warsaw-born striker the superstar he's become today. Thanks to an innovative collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, those closest to Lewandowski, including family, friends, and teammates, will be able to add some insight into what makes one of the world's top no. 9's tick.

Lewandowski himself is naturally quite excited about the upcoming documentary, which is set to come out sometime in 2022. On this, the 32-year-old noted that "The documentary will present many aspects of my career which football fans find interesting. However, I hope those viewers who don't regularly follow football will also appreciate all these little details.

"I would like the documentary to become an inspiration for those kids who dream of achieving something big but they don't believe they can. "

Manchester United Women name Skinner as new boss

Manchester United Women have appointed former Orlando Pride boss Marc Skinner as new head coach.

The 38-year-old completed his switch to the Women's Super League club from US side Orlando Pride, replacing Casey Stoney who resigned from her post back in May 2021. Skinner signed a two-year contract with the option of a further year.  He had previously worked in the WSL, holding a number of roles at Birmingham City before becoming the women's first-team manager in 2016.

His predecessor, Casey Stoney, resigned after three years in charge, and earlier in July, she was named San Diego boss ahead of their maiden season in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

Haaland pours cold water on exit rumors as he returns to Dortmund's pre-season

There has been a lot of rumors surrounding the future of one of the most promising talents in the world of football, but after this week's words, it seems that there will be no more discussions about Erling Braut Haaland's "next" team.

The Norwegian striker has been linked to teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and many more. Nevertheless, the footballer seems determined to keep playing for Borussia Dortmund for quite a while. The player made his first appearance at Borussia Dortmund's training complex, and his words hint that he is not interested in leaving his current club despite all the ink that has been spent on writing about his future.

"For starters, I have three years left in my deal. I'm enjoying my time here. But I want to win, trophies are important to me and I wanted to win last season," Haaland said. "Before last Sunday I had not spoken with my agent in over a month. So, there's your answer," the striker added.

Manchester United confirm Raphael Varane transfer

After weeks of speculation, Raphael Varane will have to pack his bags and join a new team, as Manchester United and Real Madrid have agreed terms to transfer the French center back to Old Trafford this summer.

The footballer, who won four UEFA Champions League titles and many other trophies with Los Blancos, will become a Red Devil after a ten-year stay at the Bernabeu.

In a brief press release, Manchester United have announced the end of negotiations between themselves and the Spanish club, which will result in Varane's deal made official soon.

"Manchester United is delighted to announce the club has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of French international defender and World Cup winner, Raphaël Varane, subject to a medical and to player terms being finalised," the press release stated.

Roma secure three-year kit sponsorship deal worth $42 million

It's safe to say that Roma have been quite busy over the past few months. Not only did the Giallorossi appoint a new coach, with Jose Mourinho making a return to Italy a decade after winning the Treble with Inter, but also the capital club have undergone some major changes off the pitch as well.

From replacing Nike as their kit manufacturer with New Balance to extending their deal with Korean car manufacturer Hyundai, it's been a real season of change for Roma. And now, they've finally settled on the company that will be on the front of their kits starting from this upcoming season.

As Roma fans and other Serie A followers are probably aware, Qatar Airways and Roma have enjoyed a partnership over the past few years. However, the Giallorossi leadership have decided to move in a new direction, and to that end, they've gone for something totally unexpected.

DigitalBits, a blockchain provider, now becomes the latest organization to have the privilege of being on the front of Roma's kits. The company and Roma have now finalized a three year deal worth $42 million (€36 million).
