El Tri and the Canucks lock horns with the tournament final up for grabs. Keep track of this game to find out who will play for the title on Sunday.

The CONCACAF Gold Cup has reached its semi-final stage, and three teams from the north end of the continent will be fighting for a spot in the final. Two of those, Mexico and Canada, have already played against each other in this competition and in this very stage, and they will add one more chapter to that rivalry when they lock horns in Houston.

Mexico will make it to this game having won all but one of their previous matches. El Tri won their group after two victories and one draw, which saw them face El Salvador in the Quarter-finals. Once there, Gerardo Martino's team claimed a convincing three-nil over Los Cuscatlecos, which also saw striker Rogelio Funes Mori claim the top scorer title in the Mexican National Team with three goals in the competition.

On the other hand, Canada made it to the Quarter-finals after finishing second in Group B, where the USMNT claimed the top spot after the Canucks won two and lost to the Americans. The Canadian side would go on to face Costa Rica, a team they would defeat 2-0 in Arlington. Stephen Eustaquio and Cyle Larin are the team's top scorers up to this point with three goals for each of them.

Mexico will have a full squad to choose from for this game. The team's main doubt is that of Ajax midfielder Edson Álvarez, who has been struggling with physical problems prior to this game. The rest of the squad, including the recently called up Rodolfo Pizarro are available and fit to play.

As for the Canadian team, coach John Herdman has dealt with a number of absences throughout the tournament, but that has not deterred them from their main goal: reaching the final. For this match, Herdman may have to deal with absences to players such as Jonathan Osorio, who was subbed off during the Quarter-final match against Costa Rica.

Canadá and Mexico have faced each other 32 times prior to this game. Mexico dominates those stats with 20 wins, with only four games going Canada's way and eight draws completing their tally.

Speaking about Gold Cup games, Mexico and Canada have faced each other five times, being Mexico the best of the two teams with four wins (including an 8-0 win in 1993). The only win for Canada in this tournament against Mexico took place in the 2000 edition, when the Canucks came from behind to beat El Tri and eliminate them with a 2-1 score en route to their first CONCACAF Gold Cup title.
