Quique Setien's men will look to hang onto their slim chance of beating Real Madrid to the league title with another win over the Pucela.

Real Valladolid will welcome Barcelona to the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorilla on Saturday as the latter aim to up the charge in their league title defense. Los Blaugrana remain second in La Liga with three games left to play and are still four points behind leaders Real Madrid who secured a 2-0 win over Alaves on Friday night.

While any result reminiscent of that which led to the relegation of Espanyol on Wednesday will be enough for Quique Setien's men, the group will hope that Los Blancos will drop some points in their remaining fixtures. Needless to say, that occurrence looks a tad far-fetched for Zinedine Zidane's men who have not dropped a single point in eight consecutive outings since the league resumed.

For Barcelona, a third successive win remains the the objective in the trip to the Jose Zorilla. The Catalans have won five of the eight games played during the period and have drawn the remaining three. Having already beaten Valladolid 5-1 in the reverse fixture played earlier in the season, there is enough optimism in camp for a positive outcome to be ascertained.

Indeed, the hosts themselves could do with a turn in fortunes as last month's resumption of La Liga has not yielded desirable results. Despite being 10 points clear of the relegation zone, the White and Violets have registered just two wins in all the matches played after the hiatus necessitated by the coronavirus. They have drawn four games while losing the remaining two.

On a positive note, the Pucela might draw some inspiration from the fact that they were four-games unbeaten prior to their 2-1 defeat to Valencia in their most recent outing. However, Sergio Gonzalez' men will hope that their scoring form will experience an upsurge as they have only scored two goals in a single game just twice in the last 11 outings.

Team news

Valladolid should be without Jose Antonio Caro, Michel Javaloyas, Miguel de la Fuente, Matheus Fernandes and Pedro Porro as they are yet to return from the treatment table. The availabilty of Mohammed Salisu also remains in doubt after the midfielder picked up a knock in the previous outing.

Meanwhile, Oscar Plano should return to the fold after serving a suspension this weekend. Sandro Ramirez and Sergi Guardiola should also be in contention for a starting berth after recovering from respective injuries.

With regards to Barca, Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo are not expected to be back anytime soon with the trio yet to make significant progress in their recovery journey. A red card picked up in the derby win over Espanyol means that Ansu Fati is suspended for the trip to Valladolid.

However, Frenkie De Jong could return to marshal affairs in midfield after recovering from the calf injury he picked up in June.
