The Bavarians secured a hard-earned victory in Tuesday's Der Klassiker.

Bayern Munich went within range of another one of the club's Bundesliga records following Tuesday's win over Borussia Dortmund. The Bavarians secured a 1-0 victory at the Westfalenstadion to take their win count in their first 18 league games under Hansi Flick to 15, a milestone once attained under Pep Guardiola.

In what was a cagey affair played at a relatively high tempo, Dortmund was condemned to defeat via Joshua Kimmich's audacious lob in the 41st minute. The goal which separated the two sides ensured that Bayern kept a seven-point lead ahead of their rivals on the Bundesliga table.

The Munich outfit extended its unbeaten run in all competitions to 15. On the other hand, Der BVB also recorded its first league at home this season.

For Bayern, the win further reinforced its domineering nature under new manager Hansi Flick. After setting the record for most goals scored in the Bundesliga after 27 matches last week, the men in red successfully entered the record books once more.

The victory at Dortmund took the number of wins for the Bavarians under its new boss to 15 in 18 games. This was the second time in the side's history to manage such a haul.

Atop the list is the 16 wins in 18 matches recorded in the 2013-2014 season under Pep Guardiola in his first season in charge.
