Bayern had enough reasons to celebrate their 3-0 win against Chelsea last night, but they have been dealt a massive blow for their upcoming fixtures.
Earlier today, the German club revealed that Robert Lewandowski ended the game against the Blues with a slight complaint. The team's worst fears were confirmed as the Polish ace has been ruled out for the next four weeks, which means he will not be around for at least five games, including the return leg of the tie against Chelsea.
"Lewa" has played a key role in Bayern's rise under coach Hansi Flick, as his 39 goals in all comps show. His performances have seen him score 25 goals in the domestic competition, four more than his closest rival, Timo Werner.
The 31-year old has contributed with either goals or assists in nine of Bayern's last ten games, which includes handing out two assists against Chelsea and scoring the final goal. The only game in which he didn't score took place 17 days ago, when Die Roten failed to beat RB Leipzig.
If this prediction on his recovery time is accurate, Lewandowski will be back for the final stretch of the season, which will include games against Eintracht, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen. As of now, he will be out of the league clashes against Hoffenheim, Augsburg and Union Berlin. He's also set to miss a DFB Pokal match against Schalke and the return leg against the Blues on March 18.
