Political protests have not ceased in Catalunya, which have raised fears among those who will make it to the game.

The game between Real Madrid and Barcelona is always complicated due to the massive interest it attracts from fans around the world, but this time, political unrest in Catalunya is still causing problems to La Liga and the Blaugrana side.

The game, officially set to be played on October 26, was re-scheduled due to political protests held in Catalunya. Neither the local or Spanish authorities have been able to make those protests cease, which have prompted a press release by the Spanish Football Federation(RFEF) that makes fans concerned about what could happen next week.

According to the RFEF, there are still some logistics issues regarding each team's security, but football's governing body in Spain is not willing to risk their reputation by having a hand on that matter, which should be coordinated by local authorities.

"The Royal Spanish Football Federation does not have a say in all security proceedings, and being this a public event, all the RFEF can do is coordinate with local authorities to see that all their protocols are being followed," the press release states.

"As usual, the RFEF is in contact with the security forces to coordinate the arrival of the referees to the Camp Nou as established by the protocols set by local authorities," the document adds.

With protests still going on in Catalunya, it was believed that football's governing body in Spain would at least worry about the security of those playing the game. Nevertheless, this press release confirms that both Barcelona and Real Madrid will have to handle their own security proceedings to allow the game to take place.
