Judging by recent reports and opinions coming in from Germany, Philippe Coutinho does not seem to find his feet since he left Liverpool.
The Brazilian ace, currently on loan at Bayern München, was the subject of fresh criticism from fans and experts following the team's 2-1 loss against Hoffenheim, which saw Die Roten slip to the third place in the Bundesliga standings.
Coutinho has scored two goals and handed out the same number of assists in six Bundesliga games, but fans and experts feel that his contribution in Saturday's loss was not what they expected.
"Two or three magic passes is not enough," Sport Bild stated right after praising his work rate, something he was not hired to do.
Coutinho was hired to fill the void left by Franck Ribery or Arjen Robben, and while fans seem to be satisfied with his performances so far, the thought of having him touch the ball just 59 times in 90 minutes does not do the trick.
The former Barcelona footballer had to leave Los Culés in the summer transfer window due to his poor chemistry with the team's supporters at Camp Nou and his evident lack of contribution in the team's crucial moments of the 2018-19 season, especially that 4-0 loss against Liverpool.
Coutinho's loan deal expires next summer, and while his employers seem to be OK with his performances so far, he will need to step things up to make that support unanimous and book a permanent spot for himself in Bayern's locker room.
