The awful 15-year record Arsenal are aiming to end in Anfield clash vs Liverpool

Arsenal and Liverpool are gearing up for a highly-anticipated showdown in the Premier League later on Saturday. The Gunners will make the trip to Anfield, a venue where they have struggled in recent years, with the aim of continuing their perfect start.

The north London giants have not won any of their last six trips to Merseyside, with their last win at the Reds' famous stadium coming back in 2012. However, with two wins from their opening two games this season, Emery's side will be optimistic of achieving a positive result.

Furthermore, Arsenal are aiming to end an awful 15-year record. Since 2004/05, the Gunners have never won their opening three games in a season but with two wins from the trip to Newcastle and clash with Burnley, victory at Anfield would put an end to that wait.

Unfortunately, Klopp's men are no pushovers when playing at home. The last time Van Dijk and Co. lost at their own ground was 41 games ago and since then, the European champions have gone from strength to strength.

However, with Alisson out, Liverpool have already conceded two goals, one more than Arsenal. Furthermore, Adrian, despite his stellar saves, is as comfortable on the ball as his Brazilian counterpart and could thus make another error.

One thing that is for certain is that this should be a thrilling game. With four defeats and 22 goals conceded in their last six Anfield trips, the Gunners know they must clean their act.
