Matchday 2 in the Premier League is all but done and dusted, with Monday's Wolves vs Man United tie being the only remaining fixture. The remaining top six clubs were all in action, with Man City vs Tottenham pitting two giants against each other.

And what an entertaining game it was. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with VAR canceling out Gabriel Jesus' extra-time winner. Elsewhere, Liverpool nearly dropped points thanks to an Adrian blunder but beat Southampton 2-1 while Arsenal overcame Burnley by an identical scoreline.

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley – the Gunners end unwanted 10-year record

It was a tight win but it was a victory nonetheless. Arsenal overcame Burnley 2-1 in their first home game of the season, making it two wins out of two so far in 2019/20. This is the first time they have won their opening two games of the season since 2009/10. Their next match is a trip to Liverpool, so it might not last.

The north London giants have Aubameyang to thank for those two wins, as he scored the winning goals on both instances. This takes his goalscoring average in his last six Premier League outings to a goal per game.

Southampton 1-2 Liverpool – the Reds equal Premier League record

Adrian's blunder awarded Southampton a goal and turned a comfortable game into a nervy affair. Nonetheless, the Reds came out with a 2-1 win and thus equaled their Premier League of most consecutive wins. One more and they will equal the all-time record, which stands at 12. They would have to beat Arsenal at Anfield for that, though.

Man City 2-2 Tottenham – Aguero moves ever closer to EPL record

Aguero might have been unhappy to see his team concede an equalizer after putting them 2-1 up against Spurs, and he was definitely livid at being taken off, but his goal against Lloris means he has now at 91 Premier League goals at the Etihad Stadium. Only two players have more English top-flight goals at a single venue and they are Thierry Henry (114) at Highbury and Wayne Rooney (101) at Old Trafford.

Norwich 3-1 Newcastle – Pukki makes history

Teemu Pukki is playing in the Premier League for the first time and the Norwich attacker has already set a record by Matchday 2. Scoring once against Liverpool before netting a hat-trick against Newcastle, he became the first player to score four goals in his first two games.
