The Albiceleste legend has fired shots at his country's stars after falling to Venezuela.

Diego Maradona has, once again, lashed out at players of the Argentine national team following last Friday's defeat to Venezuela in an international friendly. The 58-year-old insisted that it will be difficult for the current Albiceleste side to win games as the current crop of players are unworthy to wear the shirt.

Last week's clash at the Wanda Metropolitano saw Argentina welcoming back Lionel Messi since his self-imposed exile after the disappointment at last summer's World Cup. However, the 31-year-old's involvement was barely felt and was met with the dismay of his side losing 3-1 to their South American counterparts.

The aftermath of the proceeding saw a troll-fest commencing with the Barcelona star's woes on with the national team resurfacing once more. As a result, Maradona was called up to assess the performance of Lionel Scaloni's men and the1986 World Cup winner did not hold back with criticisms.

"No I didn't see the Argentina game, I don't watch horror movies," he stated as per Spanish publication Marca.

"The inept people who will govern the national team, did they think they were going to beat Venezuela? They are a good team.

"Argentina entered through the window, not even through the door because they betray and lie to people all the time. I'm sorry but they won't win games.

"I feel very Argentine but I feel with other coaches and players like Ruggeri, Batista, Giusti, Pumpido, Caniggia it would be different.

"This team don't deserve the shirt. They don't have a clue and I'm sorry for the people of Argentina who continue to believe these liars and for the players who have to put up with it."

While Argentina's struggles continue to persist despite boasting some of the world's finest stars, it will aim to end the international friendlies on a high note in an encounter with Morocco on Tuesday. However, head coach Lionel Scaloni will be required to field a team without Messi who will be unavailable after seemingly picking up a knock against Venezuela.
